Mark Metry (22) is the author of Screw Being Shy, a Forbes featured Keynote Speaker, on Amazon Prime's TV Docuseries "The Social Movement", and the Host of the Global Top 100 podcast, Humans 2.0.

Mark's book, Screw Being Shy, was released in March of 2020. His book briefly describes his life growing up with severe social anxiety and when he finally realized that it was time to screw being shy. Mark dives deep into the many aspects of how we live our life that either improve or deplete our mental health. 

In this episode, Livi speaks with Mark about his book's philosophies, research, and why he decided it needed to be written. Mark gives insights about his life growing up with not only social anxiety but also experiencing bullying and racial discrimination starting at a very young age. Livi and Mark dive deeply into the biochemistry of social anxiety and general mental health. Specifically how our diet affects our mental health and neuron function. Mark also touches on how meditation and journaling continually help him to be in touch with his thoughts and analyze his emotions.
